Yes, the long awaited post of our recent BBQ class outing @ cheryl's condo is finally here! =) yeaa..hahaha. Had lots of fun playing random funny games, eating and chatting! =) haha. Thanks cheryl for organizing this whole bbq!

Soooo....early in the morning. Me derek ben and ness, yes the pathetic few, haha, we went to play pool! =) Pooled at west coast recreation centre which took us freaking long to find the location. HAHA. Especially the roundabout walk at a ulu place which we highly doubted it was a recreation centre. And turns out it really isn't. But the real recreation centre doesn't look very appealing too. HAHA. But the pooling site is quite cool eh, and kinda cheap too. Can go next time now that we know how to get there. :D

After that we lunched, went cheryl's house to tennis! =) ended up the guys sweating it out instead. WAHAHA.

And then...was the long awaited bbq! =) hahah, had fun eating, and then we played some card games like slapjack, shouting-names, chuky-birdy, and stuff. Before we moved on to some action-packed games like...elope, love-ur-neighbour, and I can't really remember le. Hee.

So yea how was the stoners' holidays? Hope you guys are all enjoying it with all the slacking stoning and rotting around eh. :D Hee. Christmas is coming and so is class bbq! =) Hehh..

Pre-BBQ Activities

Woah our class blog is so happening nowadays! Yay keep it up! =) hahax.

Anyway, am here to suggest some activities before our bbq on 20th Dec. Ade has asked cheryl to help us book tennis court at her condo from 2-5pm on the same day. (thanks cheryl!) Confirmed players are ade and me and rackets and balls have to be brought ourselves. Its 3 bucks per hour and so total 9bucks for our court. I mean total, not per player. =) Ade should be able to get 2 rackets. Interested people please tag on the tagboard or msn any of us so that we'll have a rough gauge of the number of players. And yea we need more rackets if more players are coming so do hope people with rackets can provide. And its GOOD TANNING AND WORKOUT SESSION SO DO COME JOIN US! =) Btw we are all beginners in the game yea, so its alright even if you have never play before too! =)

ANd and and, POOL(i mean the pool, not the swimming pool) before our tennis game!! =) Anyone interested? hahax. So maybe like around morning we go Jurong East Entertainment Centre play pool then eat or what before proceeding to cheryl's condo at clementi to play tennis. Hmm, if you just wanna join for pool and not tennis also can lah, 2-5pm can play cards or just stone or just watch us play or whatever before our bbq. =) YAY!! Can play silent heart attack, the fruits calling game, bridge, Big2D or whatever yea. =)

Hope more people are coming for the tennis game and the pool thing before tennis is actually tentative lah. We can change that activity to others but currently I can only think of pool. Hee. =)

WHEEEE!!! YEAAA Class outing today was DAMMNNN FUN!! :D Love our class and love the food! wahahha!! Class outing was a success and special thanks to jeaness for organizing this whole outing! whee! good job ness! =) Alright, as you would have read from ngeekiang's earlier post, yea the people who went and the things we do! :D I shan't go into much details about those now then...I'll just blog randomly about whatever things that come into my mind alright! :D

Ok.. These are the much anticipated bars!! Hahz.. Our chem results and 08S17 finally managed to get bars!!..after much hardwork and mugging by everyone, except a random few.. Haha..

And we can finally see that PW has taken its toll on us.. Below are a few people who are a little bit too affected by the stress of OP and has each found their own individual ways to release the stress that has been bottling up inside them for so long.. Below: Jadeng has decided to trap herself in a small roll of soft metal.. I think she wanna do magic.. Those type where the magician cut u up...

And here's nana!! Haha.. She's also finding ways to relieve stress and i'm glad that she has found her ways.. Haha..

And lastly!!!!! Our star of the day yet again!! FAM SUENLI! She is just amazing.. Her state of unglamness can be seen even when she is too stressed out by exams.. Here, in case yall dunno wad's in her mouth, those are soursop seeds and there are many inside.. SO yup.. Suenli's way of relieving stress.. Haha..

Hey seventeen! =) heez, its the hockey ger here! =) In case you are wondering which hockey girl in the class, its suenli! =) hee..yea, i finally changed the blogskin now..the blog box is much much bigger bah..heh..yea I know its a very childish blogskin, but as you know I'm kinda childish person, so can't be helped. haha! =P i tried to find some abstract skins though, but nothing really nice 1..=) But anyway, you guys can still change the blogskin if you want to another nicer one or whatever. =)

Just went to send manuel off at the airport just now, kinda touched to see that so many of our class ppl managed to turn up. Haha, Manuel was overwhelmed by the no. of presents the class gave him and after weighing it on the scale, we found out that it amounted to about 3 kg! Oh well, it's gotta be heavy, since it's got all our thoughts and sincerity in there :p I took lots and lots of random pics, should post them up soon. All of us stayed until he checked in a the counter and we walked to see him off at the gate. Ended up crying, haha, super embarrassing (right suenli?). here's the latest update for the foodfair on College Day: Tentatively, our class will be selling Kaya Toast (360 Portions) and Otah (300 Portions). We will most probably collect $5 from all of you which will go towards the main Terra fund for College Day.

Understanding Shuttle Run

The 4x 10m Shuttle Run is probably the most sophisticated station as the movements are acyclic(not similar; unlike pull-ups or sit-ups which are repetitive actions), and therefore it requires more effort to try to understand and analyze this station.

The distance between the start/end and pick-up point is only 10 metres. As such, it is important to be able to burst and accelerate quickly and powerfully, and then to decelerate quickly towards the pick-up point. many failed shuttle run because of the lack of the explosive start and the quickened deceleration to shorten their timing. Some of the key reasons that constitutes to this commonly committed mistake is due to the improper or inefficient running techniques, or simply the lack of muscular power on the lower limbs, or even the shoulders. In fact, the muscular power generated from the shoulders by swinging the arms dictates the movement of the legs. In other words, your arms move to propel your legs. Try sprinting without moving your arms, and you will know what i mean!

Another important fitness component is the agility on the quickness of direction change after picking up the wooden block. U-turns or wide turns are totally inefficient ways of directional change as it will increase the distance of the run to the next point, thus adding additional seconds to the overall timing.

Although the hand-eye coordination is an important element in the shuttle run station, most do not have problems with such coordination requirements from the station.

Techniques for Shuttle Run

Starting Position:
1) Bend your hips so that your upper body is leaning forward by 45 degrees.
2) Bend your knees slightly and position one foot in front and the other behind.
3) Bend your elbows to 90 degrees and pull back the elbow (on the side where the respective foot is in front) back slightly.

Accelerate:
1) Start with smaller stride lengths and then increase gradually.
2) At the start of the acceleration, the entire body is like leaning at about 45 degrees forward, forming a straight line from the head to the foot that is in contact with the ground.
3) Body will return to an upright position as you attain faster speed.
4) Strike the ground with the ball of your feet as your land, not the heels.

Decelerate:
1) Think of reducing stride lengths to a complete stop.

Pick-up:
1) Turn body sideways on the last step before coming to a complete stop and pick up the block.

Turning/Cut:
1) Rotate torso powerfully to turn body back and face the next turning/ending point.
2) Cross over hind leg as you turn the body.
3) Keep body leaning forward so that you can explode into acceleration mode as quickly as possible.

Woohoo. Another job well done.

And of course, being 08S17, we showed some improvement. 13 PLATES. Plus the one with the cutlery.

That's what i have so far. NEXT WEEK LET'S AIM FOR 17 PLATES!!!! Cuz we're 08s17! wahaha.

Hello people!! =) its me here! er huh er huh..=)) heh..

Anyway, its officially the end of all the postings and appeals and classes watever stuff things le..hax, but anyway, i would really like to say i have enjoyed my time with 08s17 through this whole month and plus plus..=) either in orientation, purely STONING(yes, what we do best and led by THOMAS.hax..=P), camwhoring during breaks, studying together, bullying some of our teachers~~ haha! , at the sentosa trip, and many other things which im just lazy to recall. Hax, its being great knowing every single one of u guys and its really sad our class is left with the pathetically few..=(

Anyway, 1st of all...lets have some pictures 1st! =) haha..im sorry but i cant stand not putting any pictures so yah, purely for my own shuang-ness..hahax..=)

ok, to those who are unable to get back here or appeal back, i know its really disappointing for u guys( and me too) that u gotta leave the class and school but i just wanna let u know u guys have really made my 1st 1 month here really enjoyable and fun. =)) regardless of where u guys go, please do continue to have fun and enjoy as much of ur jc life k! =) hehheh, its really been a short(as said by eunice) journey but its been a fun time for me(except for the tutorials and studying part, damn it, i really hate the tutorials u know especially maths and bio)..=))its gonna be real hard meeting up in future with but everyone busy and what not, and maybe eventually we'll lose contact someday(hopefully not) still, i hope u guys will always remember the memories u guys had with us! =) hehe, alright, continue the BOOM spirit wherever u are!! =))

ok, and to those who are still in school, but are not able to stay in 17, hehe, at least we get to see each other still in school k! =) hax, so dun be too sad..the above paragraph also applies to you guys and yah, i really hope u guys will get along well with ur new class and everything..=) especially to xiaoxing and candy, i know u guys must be really disappointed that u guys tried so hard to appeal back, and succeeded, but the result is the same. but anyway, yah, we'll still see each other in school often(which means u will still see me often so yah, u guys dun have to miss me too much u know..hax..ok..im being abit ego...heh..=P).. and once again, jiayou in watever u are doing! =) and u guys have really made my 1st 1month really entertaining and interesting!! =))
